Hermès Just Upgraded the Iconic Kelly Into an All-Weather Must-Have

Rain or shine, your Kelly shouldn’t stay home — and this Fall–Winter 2026 runway proves Hermès agrees. At first glance, it looked like the Maison was giving the Kelly a utilitarian spin: pockets, canvas, leather trims — all the vibes of the coveted Cargo Birkin. But take a closer look, and it’s something far more clever.

Enter the Kelly Paddock, a removable protective cover that keeps the bag beneath safe while remaining fully wearable. Think of it as a stylish “raincoat” for your Kelly — functional, clever, and unmistakably Hermès.

So how does it actually work? Crafted from durable canvas with leather accents, the Kelly Paddock is designed in two sections for maximum functionality. The top flap sits separately from the main body and fastens to the back of the Kelly Paddock using a trio of secure, leather-covered poppers. Meanwhile, the top handle threads through the cover, and the sangles secure as usual.

A pair of slip pockets line the front of the Kelly Paddock, while side pockets offer smart, easy-to-reach storage, all fastening with leather-covered press studs. Reinforced corners and trims in leather or matte alligator protect the Kelly beneath, and across sizes from 25 to 32, each cover is perfectly color-matched, creating a seamless, highly polished look.

Hermès extended the same concept to the Bolide, dressing it in khaki canvas with deep brown matte alligator. A large slip pocket at the front follows the bag’s curves, while a matching back pocket mirrors the silhouette.
